The 2022 IODA Conference – Barcelona

September 30, 2022 @ 8:00 October 2, 2022 @ 17:00

Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn’t be detected. Try reloading the page.

We are happy to announce that our annual IODA Conference is back! After three years of virtual events we are excited to meet you all in person in Barcelona!

Our intent with this 2022 edition is to return to some grassroots principles that have been part of IODA since its formation in 1987 – affordable, communal, collegial, international. These are the characteristics that make IODA great – our sense of community, being together, sharing expertise, laughing, dancing and exploring new cultures.

  • Self-organising principles – low key, participative and community experience
  • Create a sense of community with opportunities to get to know each other
  • Meet people from the local community
  • Everyone contributes to program sessions – participating in and facilitating sessions
  • Conference costs and individual registration fees kept as low as possible
  • Participants responsible for booking their own accommodation and meals

Conference Co-hosts

GLENDA HUTCHINSON

Co-VP Conferences & Events at IODA and organization development consultant whose primary purpose is to help organizations achieve results by working with their people.

GREG COLLIER

Senior leader, facilitator and executive coach with a passion for unleashing the potential of people and cascading that through organizations and communities.

Conference Venue

We have secured a beautiful venue packed with history for our 2022 Conference. The event will take place at Martí-Codolar – Av. del Cardenal Vidal i Barraquer, 15, 08035 Barcelona (Directions).

The land currently occupied by the Martí-Codolar Salesian Seminary has a long history that begins in the 15th century. From a rural farmhouse to a residential palace for members of the Catalan bourgeoisie, Luis Martí-Codolar housed his collection of exotic animals there. Among them an elephant, a giraffe and lots of exotic birds that would, one day, give rise to the Zoo of Barcelona in 1892. The farm witnessed illustrious visits from Spanish Kings Fernando VII and Alfonso XIII as well as that of Don Juan Bosco in 1886 which would finally lead to the transfer of property to the Salesian community in 1946. The congregation of the Salesians entered in 1949 and inaugurated the seminary. Today, the Martí-Codolar offers a variety of different spaces for meetings and events as well as a guest house/hostel.

Please visit the venue website for information about accommodation options, parking, travel options to the venue – with links to all the relevant sites.

Accommodation

Please note event attendees will be responsible for booking their own accommodation during the Conference.

Though the Martí-Codolar has rooms it is now fully booked and is no longer accepting bookings. For more accommodation options we suggest going to your preferred accommodation booking sites.
