Life-Centred OD: Our Contributions as OD Practitioners to Supporting Climate Resilience | Session 1
September 7 @ 8:30 – 10:00 MST

We hope you will join us during the launch session of IODA’s new Climate Resilience series of workshops led by three IODA members: Lakshmidevi Vasudevan, Michelle de Bruyn & Jen Freeman.
The focus
Climate enhances, maximizes, contracts, diminishes our energies to function and, as such, a climate crisis is a huge threat to the earth and all the living beings. It affects each one of our day-to-day lives in one way or the other. Climate change is now recognised by many global CEOs as one of the top risks facing their organisations, and integrating climate resilience into their operations is one of the key organizational challenges they face.
As change agents it is our responsibility to bring more awareness through the work that we do. We are moving towards climate and life; not climate versus life. Life-centred design; not human-centred design.
What to expect from the session
This series of workshops is an attempt to bring in experts and OD practitioners who are already doing significant work and can bring awareness and tools to evoke more ideas as a collective group and take it forward through the work that we do. And if we are yet to start, we learn from each other. We each can become a catalyst in this endeavour.
During this interactive session we hope to:
- Have a dialogue/embodiment/energy practices & other modalities around climate resilience
- Learn from practices by members & share knowledge
- Find new ways to implement and participate
- Spread awareness within IODA members and see the impact that they start implementing it in the ways they could
- Create and share a CoP document and make it available for other members to make use of it.
The outcomes
We hope you will leave this session with:
- An understanding of how OD practitioners perceive climate change
- An increased understanding of the current and potential role of OD practitioners in supporting climate resilience
- Collaborative ways of actioning climate change urgency through OD practice/through the work that we do.
- A centered, embodied, and grounded approach to support climate resilience and nature positive approaches.
