SUMMARY:Life-Centred OD: Our Contributions as OD Practitioners to Supporting Climate Resilience | Session 1
DESCRIPTION:We hope you will join us during the launch session of IODA’s new Climate Resilience series of workshops led by three IODA members: Lakshmidevi Vasudevan\, Michelle de Bruyn & Jen Freeman. \n\n\n\nThe focus\n\n\n\nClimate enhances\, maximizes\, contracts\, diminishes our energies to function and\, as such\, a climate crisis is a huge threat to the earth and all the living beings. It affects each one of our day-to-day lives in one way or the other. Climate change is now recognised by many global CEOs as one of the top risks facing their organisations\, and integrating climate resilience into their operations is one of the key organizational challenges they face.  \n\n\n\nAs change agents it is our responsibility to bring more awareness through the work that we do. We are moving towards climate and life; not climate versus life. Life-centred design; not human-centred design. \n\n\n\nWhat to expect from the session\n\n\n\nThis series of workshops is an attempt to bring in experts and OD practitioners who are already doing significant work and can bring awareness and tools to evoke more ideas as a collective group and take it forward through the work that we do. And if we are yet to start\, we learn from each other. We each can become a catalyst in this endeavour. \n\n\n\nDuring this interactive session we hope to: \n\n\n\n\nHave a dialogue/embodiment/energy practices & other modalities around climate resilience\n\n\n\nLearn from practices by members & share knowledge\n\n\n\nFind new ways to implement and participate\n\n\n\nSpread awareness within IODA members and see the impact that they start implementing it in the ways they could\n\n\n\nCreate and share a CoP document and make it available for other members to make use of it.\n\n\n\n\nThe outcomes\n\n\n\nWe hope you will leave this session with: \n\n\n\n\nAn understanding of how OD practitioners perceive climate change\n\n\n\nAn increased understanding of the current and potential role of OD practitioners in supporting climate resilience\n\n\n\nCollaborative ways of actioning climate change urgency through OD practice/through the work that we do.\n\n\n\nA centered\, embodied\, and grounded approach to support climate resilience and nature positive approaches.\n\n\n\n\nEvent details\n\n\n\nDate: Saturday September 7th \n\n\n\nLength: 90 minutes \n\n\n\nCost: This workshop will be free of charge for members and U$D15 for non-members. \n\n\n\nTime: 08:30 Pheonix | 11:30 New York | 11:30 Santiago | 16:30 London | 17:30 Amsterdam | 21:00 New Delhi. SUMMARY:IODA Mentoring Program Meeting | Members Only
DESCRIPTION:Mentoring Opportunity with University Students from BIM\, India \n\n\n\nIn response to feedback from past surveys conducted by the Executive Committee\, we are excited to announce that IODA is launching a mentoring program in partnership with students from the Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM) in India. This pilot initiative will run from October 2024 to January 2025. We are now seeking IODA members who might be interested in mentoring young OD practitioners. \n\n\n\nAs a mentor\, the commitment will be to meet monthly in a large group format as part of the elective course schedule. Additionally\, mentors will work on a small group project with five university students. The course\, titled “Organizational Development and Change” is an OD elective that focuses on key aspects of our field. \n\n\n\nDoes this sound of interest? \n\n\n\nWould you be willing to be a mentor to young potential OD Practitioners? We are conducting a one-hour interest meeting scheduled for this Saturday September 21st and would like to invite all our members who might be interested to attend. We will discuss the program and commitment in more detail and answer any questions you may have. SUMMARY:IODA World Café Session 4: Exploring the Six Cultural Dimensions of the Hofstede Model (Emphasis 1&2)
DESCRIPTION:The 2024 IODA World Café series reflects and encompasses the interests communicated by IODA members. As we continue to focus on sustainability of this practice\, we will continue to be responsive to improving global workforces with all stakeholders in mind. \n\n\n\nABOUT THE SESSION\n\n\n\nHave you ever experienced that your OD methods work well within one context\, while they seem to create less progress in another cultural environment? Have you thought about the cultural assumptions underlying your instruments and approaches? What would it take to make some adaptations to various contexts or to a more diverse group of people \n\n\n\nDuring the next World Café sessions\, we will explore the cultural contextualization of your OD instruments and approaches. We will use the dimensions of national culture of the late Prof. Hofstede\, to structure our thinking and analyses. \n\n\n\nFOCUS OF THE SESSION\n\n\n\nWith 3 World Cafés and 6 cultural dimensions\, we will be able to explore two dimensions per session. Each cultural dimension will be introduced with a small story\, an example of an adaptation. In a small break out group\, you will be able to share and analyse a tool or approach you often use\, guided by some questions. The dimension will be concluded with sharing and last remarks in plenary\, after which we will go to the next. \n\n\n\nEVENT DETAILS\n\n\n\nDate: Saturday September 28thTime: 08:00 New York | 09:00 Santiago | 13:00 London | 14:00 Madrid | 17:30 New Delhi | 20:00 Singapore. Check your time zone here.Length: 90 minutesCost: Free for all. This event is open to IODA members as well as non-members. \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE
