Skill-Building Workshop for OD Practitioners | PART I

August 2 @ 8:30 11:00 CDT

Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn’t be detected. Try reloading the page.

Academia’s role is to educate, to inform and they do it well in most cases. What is lacking however is real world experience, skill and confidence. These traits are usually acquired after graduation.

We are excited to invite our community to participate in this two-part series of unique and highly interactive workshops led by Larry Kokkelenberg and Regan Miller, authors of OD for the Accidental Practitioner and OD for the Intentional Practitioner. This will be a skill-development workshop not a webinar; there will be no passive learning, instead, a lot of active participation. The goal is to increase your skills as OD practitioners which means practice sessions will be a part of this program.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is a two-session workshop with practice sessions, demonstrations, large and small group discussions and brief tutorials. There will be practice and observation opportunities between the sessions. The sessions build on one another so if you miss the first session you will not be able to attend the second session.

During each session, the competencies we will be focusing on are:

  • Diagnostic data gathering
  • Relationship management
  • Situational Awareness – emotional sensitivity
  • Use of self

Each session is 2.5 hours long and the workshop is limited to 20 participants in this cohort. All participants will be actively participating which means no muting of voice or turning off video the entire program. Please only register if you are willing to actively participate.

NETWORKING

In almost every webinar we hear “not enough time in small groups”, “we need more time to get to know one another”,  or “I joined the association to be introduced to like-minded professionals”, etc. Therefore, this workshop will place a strong emphasis on getting to know one another and being supportive of one another. While not mandatory, we encourage the sharing of your contact information with the cohort for ongoing networking and peer-to-peer support during the sessions. You will leave this workshop with new colleagues/friends. We encourage early sign ups and would like to share everyone’s contact information prior to the beginning of the program.
